Contrary to popular believe, steam showers are not a new invention, the Ancient Greeks were very fond of them too.  The Romans enjoyed this Greek invention and labelled them Sudatoriums.

No longer relegated to history, modern steam showers are rising in popularity.  If you’re not familiar with the idea, steam showers are housed in dedicated rooms or self-contained units where steam is generated for the purpose of bathing and relaxation.   Some of steam rooms or steam enclosures will also allow you to take a traditional shower with running water.  Steam showers are not to be confused with saunas; saunas have a much lower humidity, i.e. the steam is dryer, than a steam shower. Conversely, the humidity in a steam shower cabin is very high, that is, the steam is very moist.
